ARTIST STATEMENT

No matter how hard we try to be objective, I believe we all define people, places, and things based on how we define ourselves and our experiences. That being said, defining one’s self is never-ending because we are constantly evolving beings. While I find this to be a particular difficult process, I use it as a means to explore other definitions along the way. That is what I strive to do with my work—form individual ideas of identity, whether it be for the graphic design of a brand, a concept in my own art, or my personal understanding of myself. In a sense, everything has its own identity or energy and I am drawn to discovering it through the layering of all the definitions I come across.
